Symptoms of stress are becoming a major factor in absenteeism from work.

Learning to understand ourselves better is a key to improved health and well being. I often talk about traffic lights with my clients. If the green light is on then the traffic can proceed ahead and go about its business. When the red light is on all the traffic comes to a standstill and has to wait to be told to move again. The amber light is the warning light, that things will be coming to a standstill soon. We need to become aware of our own personal traffic light signals. They tell us when things are good, bad or in need of attention.

When we start to experience our own combination of warnings then it is time to take stock of what is happening and look after ourselves better. There are hundreds of symptoms of stress and pressure, from headaches, blurred vision, poor concentration , to loss of libido, poor quality of sleep, irritability. becoming aware of our own personal alarm signals gives us important information before things get too seriously wrong.

Quality of sleep is a major part of our support system. how often will someone say ‘do not make a hasty decision now, sleep on it and see how you feel tomorrow’ ? often by the next day things will seem different. We may well feel calmer, less affected by something or someone, we may look at it in a completely different way. sleep is time for the conscious mind to take time out from its rational and logical approach and enable the unconscious mind to explore alternative options and perspectives in a free, unrestricted way.

This often happens through dreams. many people say that they do not dream, but research has found that we all dream several times each night and are programmed to forget them upon waking up. Fitful and restless sleep or broken sleep patterns can occur when a person is very stressed or anxious and finding it difficult to resolve a situation. sometimes writing down all the issues or concerns can help to cope better. This enables the mind to be freed from going over the thoughts, everything is on the list and can be referred to when required. then the thoughts can be told to stop and the mind can be clearer.

This is why it is so important to support ourselves in all areas of our lives. We know how important it is to maintain our car, we need it, rely on it for everyday life, business, picking up the children, shopping, errands, maintaining a social life, so we have it serviced regularly, keep it filled with fuel and oil. We do not expect it to run on empty. think of treating ourselves with the same commitment.

Quality of sleep is an important part of the support process. Treating it as a positive ending to each day is a big step. here are some positive tips for a better quality and balance in life, all so obvious and yet so often ignored:
– eat a healthy diet, rather than eating quick unhealthy snacks full of sugar and fat.
– take exercise, even a short power walk for twenty minutes two/ three times a week

Commit to proper sleep
– think of winding down a couple of hours before bed
– eat earlier rather than later in the evening and not too spicy foods.

som moren til huset, har jeg blitt keeper av tradisjonene. Selvfølgelig søkte jeg ikke denne posisjonen ut, men sammen med vaskeri i sjef og hode dagligvarehandler, skjedde det bare. Så, hvordan gjør jeg ferie som fantastisk for familien min (og meg selv) som jeg kan år etter år? Det hele starter med en liten notatbok og mye viljestyrke. Fordi uten de tingene jeg glemmer hvordan Santa gjør sin virksomhet og bli begravet i pepperkake.

I forrige uke mottok jeg en babymelding for en baby født i uken før. Ingen løgn. Enda mye mer sjokkerende, den lille damen ble født 5 uker tidlig, så det er ikke som om hun bodde der en ekstra ti dager, og mamma kjedde seg nok til å plukke ut kunngjøringer og adressere konvolutter.

Hvis du ikke har kommet rundt til det allerede, finn et søtt bilde av den minste familiemedlemmet ditt og send ut fødselsmeldinger.

Gå til håndverksbutikken og kjøp en hage eller to av svart fløyel. Det er et enkelt og økonomisk bakteppe – ingen sying nødvendig.

Pass på at babyen (og deg) hviler, matet og vannet. Alt går greit med en fornøyd baby og mamma. En sovende baby er mye mer klient enn en våken baby og bildene er flotte.

Kle babyen din i nøytrale farger, men nakne babyer er alltid dyrebare.

Slå av blitsen og plasser babyen din med et vindu. Naturlig lys gir et fantastisk bilde.

PAJAMAS MAKE the best COSTUMES!

Pajamas are my very favorite Halloween costume base. There, I said it. For about $20 you buy something that your child can sleep in for a year — what a value! here are a 15 of my favorites for this year.

Skjelett.

Our go-to pajama-based costume is this skeleton from Carter’s. It never goes out of style. The legend is true that all five of our little ones were pajama-skeletons for Halloween, some of them more than once. Skeleton jammies come in all sizes!

Enhjørning.

With a few embellishments, white or rainbow pajamas can be made into a sparkly magical unicorn. We used white pjs, gold sticky foam for the horn, a sparkly mini boa for the tail, and rainbow leg warmers just for fun.

Darth Vader.

These Vader pajamas make the Dark Side cozy. I bet you already have a lightsaber (red is a must, ok?). The pictured mask comes with a cloak for about $8 but my preference would be the amazing voice changing helmet (which I purchased for my own birthday!). keep with the star Wars theme with Stormtrooper and Chewbacca hooded jammies for siblings or besties.

Mamma.

Scary adorable Mummy Pajamas are another simple twist on my favorite theme of add NOTHING.

Doc McStuffins.

We love Doc in my house and these Doc McStuffins pajamas are perfect for your little doctor- or vet-in-training. Her candy bag can be a medical kit, but why make things harder?

Humle.

I had great success with Leveret’s striped pajamas and now love that Burt’s Bees has jumped into the striped pajama game. choose red + white for Where’s Waldo or go classic for the bumblebee (just add wings!)

Sawyer loved being a Bee for Halloween and every night after (yellow striped pajamas here)

Sjiraff.

I love these cozy giraffe pajamas, and they come in many sizes at a good price.

Sebra.

Check out these cute zebra fleece footies and all you need are the zebra ears and tail. Or just the pajamas because we can easily recognize this cutie already.

Batman.

These Batman pajamas are perfect for trick-or-treating without a coat. Sawyer loves his set for family camp-outs. While you might want a mask and cape for home costume play, I vote to keep the face clear for safety (which means: add nothing and go!). We also have — and love — these Spiderman fleece pajamas.

Klovn.

This clown is a sweet little toddler teddy bear wearing her polka dot pajamas, rainbow wig, and Julian’s silly clown collar. Make her scary or sweet with face paint and red nose. You can add the clown accessories to any set of colorful pajamas. adorable for a toddler on up through a grade-schooler.

Mouse (or any other gray animal).

First check out Primary.com. You can add cute mouse ears with tail (and bow tie!?) or extra bits from any other gray animal you love. These jammies come in asphalt (dark gray) or heather plus a ton of other colors to be your canvas. So if you have a piggie snout or duckbill lying around, solid pajamas might be your ticket!

Brobee and Plex.

Yo Gabba Gabba character pajamas are two for $20 — what are you waiting for? choose one or share with a friend later!

Woody and Buzz. 

Another favorite in my house! toy story superstars, Woody and Buzz (add a cowboy hat for Woody for under $10). If you decide to accessorize for Buzz with cool space gloves; a versatile space helmet; and a full-on jet pack, I might direct you out of the pajama section and back toward a complete costume instead.

Christmas Elf.

These green stripe pajamas can turn your child into a Christmas elf as soon as you find a funny elf hat. If it feels a little incomplete, you can add a diy red vest. Boom. These jammies also work for your holiday card photoshoot which you should totally already be working on.

Ninja Turtle. 

Without ever seeing a show, my four-year old has become a TMNT devotee. If teenage Mutants are allowed your house, check out these choices: 2 piece TMNT PJs or footie pajamas with a cape. I’m a fan of the simpler ones, but I don’t have to wear them. With soft pajamas, your kiddo can easily fall asleep in the stroller. For a more realistic look, you can upgrade with a backpack to form the shell (something like this for about $20). combat gear optional.

Jack O’Lantern. 

In closing, I offer a classic. For about $15, your kiddo can wear these pumpkin pajamas until you get sick of seeing orange. I’d probably pair with solid green or brown leggings as a stem instead of the print. maybe you can throw an orange blanket over your child’s lap?
